- On January 15th 2001 Wikipedia was debuted. Also on this day in 2004 the NASA Spirit rover landed on the surface of Mars.

- On January 3rd 1892 J.R.R Tolkien was born.
- On January 2nd 1920 Isaac Asimov was born.
- On December 31st 1879 Thomas Edison demonstrated the incandescent light for the first time.
- On December 29th 1845 Texas was admitted to the union as the 28th state.
- On December 25th 1990 the World Wide Web was introduced. Two Computer scientists: Tim Berners-Lee and Robert Cailliau created the first hyper-linked web page.
