PSP2 (codenamed NGP) announced

At long last the successor to the dreaded PSPGo is here. With a 5″ OLED screen, 3G and WiFi connectivity, GPS, and compass, this PSP outdoes all other gaming systems known to human-kind… that is unless you count the iPhone.

The PSP franchise is Sony’s equivalent to Apple’s Apple TV… It’s a pet project. Except Sony expects result from theirs.

So far the specs are pretty limited (just what is mentioned above). Currently there is no word on hardware, or 3G pricing. We did however receive a release date… ish. The official word from Sony is that it’s going to be out for the holidays.

My guess is that the hardware costs $200-$250. And the 3G connection is either free, or heavily subsidized.
