Nikon Releasing new Cameras August 24th?

It has all but been confirmed, Nikon Cameras has made it fairly clear in their most recent press release that they’re going to be releasing new cameras. According to professional photographer Joe McNally, Nikon allowed him to use their new camera bodies to shoot a gallery of photographs that will be unveiled on August 24th. Nikon also has a press conference scheduled for that day, and one three days after that in Slovakia. The most likely announcement will be two new pro camera bodies, as well as a mirror-less system, as Nikon has filed for several patents in mirror-less camera technology.

In the press release published today, Nikon states:

Based on McNally’s renowned “Faces of Ground Zero, Portraits of the Heroes of September 11, 2001,” this updated special exhibition will feature original life-size portraits, along with new digital images and exclusive video interviews shot with the latest Nikon cameras

Considering that there are no “latest camera systems” currently on the market, it is to be assumed that they are referring to a new system.
