Security has always been point of pride for Apple. But they have made a few mistakes. For example, the Mac OS bug that allows anyone to create a new administrator account. Today there is another example of this, this time on the iPhone. The exploit allows you to make calls on a locked iPhone. How? Simple. Just find a locked iPhone, slide the bar, and tap the “emergency call” button and type in a random number and hit call. After that you need to quickly hit the lock button.
This will take you to the phone app. Within this app you can make a call to anyone, you can access the photo library, and you can take a look at who is in the address book.
One thing to note is that you can’t hit the home button to exit. You need to make a call, and then end the call in order to exit.
Apple hopefully is working on a fix for this as we speak. Although they might just wait until iOS 4.2 comes out.
Go ahead and try it! Just don’t use it for a malicious purpose.
