Short on the heels of BestBuy’s announcement of its unhappiness with the HP TouchPad, HP has just officially announced that the it will be dropping WebOS and WebOS enabled devices from its catalog. This is most likely a result of retailers and more importantly, consumers not exactly enjoying the WebOS experience. With the pressure from Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android OS, HP most likely figured that it would be more cost-effective to expand their horizons. In my opinion, I believe that HP should be looking into supporting Android devices on their hardware; however HP’s official statement is that they’re going to be moving their focus onto more enterprise-like hardware.
