Daily Ray: August 18th

In our new segment, The Daily Ray, we will recap what has happened in the day’s news. Today, a lot happened, Google launched a social way to watch YouTube videos (1), Google+ now has a scrolly-upper-bar-thing-a-ma-jig (you know!)(2), Apple sucks because they falsify information, then continue to attempt to ban Samsung devices in the EU(3), HP kills WebOS and TouchPad (4), Robotic legs read your mind (5), and of course Oxford adds Mankini to the dictionary (6)… Read more below, and also try reading the other stories linked in the article numbers.

1.

YouTube now includes a button where users can watch the video socially with Google+ Hangouts. The feature merely is more easily accessed version of what already was in Google+ Hangout’s list of tricks. The idea of watching a video with a group of friends, to me, doesn’t always sound appealing (RayWilliamJohnson, I’m looking at you).

2.

In more Google+ related news Google+ now has a scrolling bar! Huge news, I know… the feature is minor change in Google+’s layout; however that doesn’t stop the internet from buzzing about it.

3.

As was recently posted about (click here), in the Apple vs. Samsung lawsuit, Apple apparently provided false information to the court. In spite of this, Apple is still vying for Samsung’s ban in the EU.
