Apple’s Music event is over, and they gave us a few surprises. First there is the iPod Touch, then the iPod Nano, and last but not least the iPod Shuffle.
The other releases are two new iOS updates (iOS 4.1, and 4.2). iOS 4.1 has some very cool new features like HDR photography, and the Game Center, and a lot of bug fixes.
iOS 4.2 has some really really cool features like wireless printing from an iPad (I think Apple will be coming out with an updated version of both the iPad, and the iPhone 4 next week).
iOS 4.1 will be available for download next week, iOS 4.2 will be sometime in November.

iTunes 10 was also premiered showing off Apple’s new social network for music: Ping. iTunes 10 is out now for download, however if you do click on the download it will download version 9.2.1 for some strange reason. I know this will be fixed in a short time.
The iPod Nano now has a 1.7″ screen that is fully multitouch enabled. This means you will be able to wear it on your shirt sleeve. It is running a different version of iOS (which will be hacked to run apps in a very short time). It is available for pre-order now, and will ship next week.
The new iPod Touch was their biggest release as it has FaceTime, a Retina display, and the A4 processing chip. It is also available for pre-order, and will also ship next week.
Apple reported that this is their number one most popular iPod, and has overrun Nintendo, and Sony in game sales.
The biggest release of all was the Apple TV (not iTV). It was a little bit of a let down that it didn’t have apps, but it did have an amazing UI for a very reasonable price. It will sell for $99 in one month. It has Netflix, YouTube, and Flickr all built-in.
It also includes support for iDevices such as the iPad, iPod Touch, and iPhone running iOS 4.2. It has what’s called AirPlay. Which will allow you to merely press a button and have it stream video or music directly from your iPad or iPhone to your Apple TV.
You can also rent first run movies for $4.99. (That means any new release on DVD or BluRay will be available on your Apple TV at the same time). TV show rentals will cost ¢99 per view (No ads).
It can also take pictures from your iPhone that you just took, and make a slideshow for you to watch on your HDTV.
The only other major release was the iPod Shuffle which will be available next week for $49. It is currently available for pre-order. The only thing to consider though is that the iPod Nano sports a multi-touch display, and is almost the same size.
Thanks for reading! I’ll be posting more information as it comes available!
