Android’s trojan virus

From the launch of the Android platform the concern was that it would accumulate virus’, and it has. Today Slashdot reported that the Chinese Android Marketplace is selling apps that contain a trojan virus. The virus has been grafted onto illegitimate copies of games. As of now we don’t know exactly what the virus does, but it is safe to assume that it gleams your information (including credit card information) and sends it to the developers.

In conclusion be careful what you download. You never know what you might download. Slashdot reports that is the worst virus the Android OS has seen. There are currently no reports telling us what apps have been infected, hopefully Google will resolve the problem quickly. I doubt that they’ll ever truly fix the problem, that is unless they start moderating the apps in their store… which will never happen.

What do you think? Have you downloaded any concerning apps? Tell us in the comments section below.
